Fees & pricing details

Every fee Trustworkly charges, in one place. No hidden costs, no per-lead pricing, no long-term contracts. This page is reference documentation — bookmark it and come back any time.

1. Verification fee

One-time verification
$60non-refundable

Covers: background check (criminal + civil), license verification, and insurance verification. These checks are performed by third-party providers on your application.

This fee covers a real service performed on your application — it is non-refundable regardless of outcome, including if you do not pass verification.

2. Subscription tiers

Verified

First month free
$100/ per month
  • Background check required
  • License verification required
  • Insurance verification required
  • Standard platform fee schedule (see §3)

Verified Pro

First month free
$300/ per month
  • Everything in Verified
  • Public Verified Project Showcase (before/after)
  • Reduced Pro platform fee schedule (see §3)
Your card will be charged automatically when your free month ends, on the exact renewal date shown in your account. You'll receive a reminder email 3 days before you're charged. Cancel anytime before that date at no cost.

3. Platform transaction fees

Under $5008%10%4%6%
$500 – $2,5006%8%3%5%
$2,500 – $5,0005%7%2.5%4.5%
$5,000 – $10,0004%6%2%4%
Over $10,0003%5%2%3.5%

Trustworkly's platform fee is deducted automatically from your payout — customers always pay exactly your quoted price, with no added fees on their end.

Under the hood we use Stripe Connect's application_fee_amount on a destination charge. Stripe routes the invoice total to your connected account and holds back Trustworkly's cut in the same settlement — no separate invoice, no reconciliation on your end.

This fee is only charged on payments processed through Trustworkly. If you're paid outside the platform, no fee applies — but that project won't count toward your public Budget Accuracy score, since we can no longer independently verify the amount paid. ACH bank transfer is cheaper than card for both tiers, and Verified Pro always pays less than Verified at every job size and payment method.

4. Cancellation & refunds

  • How to cancel: Account settings → Billing → "Cancel subscription." One click, visible in your account — you never need to email or call support to cancel.
  • In-progress projects: Any project already accepted before you cancel continues normally. You can still request and receive payments through Trustworkly on those projects for 60 days after cancellation, at the fee tier you were on when the project was accepted.
  • No cancellation fees. No long-term contract. Subscriptions are month-to-month. Cancel before your renewal date and you're not charged again.
  • The $60 verification fee is non-refundable once verification has been attempted, since the underlying checks have already been paid for.

5. FAQ

Why do you charge a subscription instead of charging per lead?

Per-lead pricing (Angi, HomeAdvisor) creates a perverse incentive: the platform makes more money the more contractors it sells the same lead to, which is why homeowners get 6 calls in 10 minutes and contractors pay $80+ per lead they never win. A flat monthly subscription means we make the same amount whether you win 0 leads or 50 — so our only incentive is to send you leads that actually convert.

What if I fail the background check?

The $60 verification fee is non-refundable, because the check was still performed. However, you are never charged a subscription for a tier you don't qualify for — the monthly billing only starts once your verification passes and your free month ends.

Can I switch between Verified and Verified Pro?

Yes, from Account settings → Billing. Upgrades from Verified to Verified Pro take effect immediately, and you're charged a prorated amount for the rest of the current billing period. Downgrades from Verified Pro to Verified take effect at your next renewal date, so you keep Pro features (including the public project showcase) through the end of the period you already paid for.
